Overview
This new 2027 Peterbilt 567 conventional day cab tractor is set up for hauling construction materials and general freight in 100% highway service, pulling a 53' two-axle flatbed trailer. It has a GVWR of 52,500 lbs and a GCW rating of 80,000 lbs, and it is rated for a maximum grade of 6%. The short 210" wheelbase keeps the tractor compact for urban work.
Engine & Drivetrain
The PACCAR MX-13 engine (2024 emissions, model year 2026 engine) is rated at 455 HP at 1,600 RPM, governed at 2,200 RPM, with 1,650 lb-ft of torque at 900 RPM. It is CARB compliant, uses EMUX electronics architecture, and comes with an engine compression brake whose controls sit on the right-hand column. The drivetrain is tuned for a typical operating speed of 68 MPH, with the vehicle speed limiter set at 65.0 MPH or greater and a cruise control maximum of 70 MPH. It has the Predictive Cruise Control package, MX retarder cruise control, and engine monitoring protection with derate. The engine idle shutdown timer is disabled. Engine equipment includes a PACCAR 160-amp alternator, a PACCAR premium starter, three PACCAR premium 12V dual-purpose batteries (2,190 CCA), a 110–120V immersion block heater, a Horton on/off fan clutch, a high-efficiency cooling system and a Wabco 25.9 CFM air compressor. It also has a PACCAR fuel/water separator with an extended service interval, dual self-cleaning pre-cleaners under the hood, and a firewall-mounted air cleaner. The PACCAR TX-12 12-speed automated transmission uses a right-hand column-mounted shifter, performance shift calibration and a neutral coast mode. PTO provisions include a dash-mounted electric-over-air PTO control, a park brake interlock for a transmission-mounted PTO, a PTO access hole in the shifter plate, cab-station PTO mode control and a 12-pin remote PTO/throttle provision in the engine bay. Power reaches the axles through a 1810 HD driveline with one midship bearing and a 1710 interaxle driveline. The rear axle ratio is 3.25.
Chassis & Axles
The frame uses 10-5/8" steel rails (5/16" thick) with a zinc-coated anti-corrosion treatment and aluminum crossmembers. The end of frame is tapered with a crossmember and kingpin cutout. The wheelbase is 210", with 86.2" from front axle to back of cab, 123.8" from cab to axle and 180.8" from cab to end of frame. Up front is a Dana Spicer E1252IL axle rated at 12,500 lbs with a 3.5" drop and a wide track. It has TRW THP60 power steering with a frame-mounted reservoir. The rear is a Dana Spicer DSP40 tandem rated at 40,000 lbs, with GAWRs of 12,500 lbs front and 20,000 lbs on each drive axle. Bendix ADB22X air disc brakes are fitted front and rear, with pad dust shields and PHP10 aluminum Preset+ hubs on all axles. Safety and traction equipment includes the Bendix ESP electronic stability program with ATC, a 6S6M anti-lock braking system, a tire pressure monitoring system and a pneumatic park brake. It also has tandem differential locks with speed interlock, a separate dash control for full traction lock, and synthetic lubricant in all axles.
Suspension
The front uses taper leaf springs rated at 12,500 lbs with Tenneco shocks, greasable spring pins and 10 mm spacer blocks. The rear is a lightweight Peterbilt Low Air Leaf suspension rated at 40,000 lbs with a 52" axle spacing. It has a single leveling valve on the forward drive axle and a dash-mounted dump switch with an indicator light. The cab rides on its own air suspension.
Cab & Interior
This is a VOC 115" BBC aluminum day cab with a Metton hood, stainless steel crown and grille, and tilt assist. It has a thermal insulation package and Peterbilt keyless entry. The Prestige interior is in Sterling Gray. The driver's seat is a Peterbilt LX premium high-back air ride seat in black Mordura with left and right armrests. The passenger's seat is a Peterbilt ST high-back non-air seat in black Mordura with a left armrest and a toolbox underneath. Other interior features include a multi-function steering wheel with the Peterbilt logo and audio and cruise controls, a tilt/telescoping column, and vanity mirrors on the sunvisors. It also has power door locks and windows, a one-piece curved windshield, a fixed one-piece rear window and a combination fresh air heater/air conditioner. For audio and communications, it has a ConcertClass AM/FM/WB radio with a 3.5 aux input, two speakers, Bluetooth phone and audio, and a USB port. There are also dual USB charging ports and an Uniden PC78LTX CB radio mounted in the header, with two roof antennas. Telematics support includes global telematics hardware, RP1226 wiring for an ELD and a 5-year SmartLINQ remote diagnostics/OTA subscription. The 15" digital cluster shows oil temperatures for both drive axles and the engine, air filter restriction, brake application pressure, suspension load air pressure and trailer reservoir pressure. It also shows engine hours, PTO hours, turbo boost and engine percent torque. Other cab features include a rear wall map pocket, intermittent electric wipers, a fire extinguisher and a triangle reflector kit.
Body & Equipment
The fifth wheel is a Jost JSK37 top plate on a Jost lightweight inboard slider with a 24" air slide. It sits at a height of 7.6"–8" and is set at the bogie centerline, with a left-hand release and slide controls. Fuel is carried in two polished 26" aluminum tanks behind the cab (100 gallons on the right, 80 gallons on the left). The tanks are mounted symmetrically, with polished straps, dual draw/return lines and shutoff valves. The 24-gallon DEF tank is mounted behind the cab on the left and has a polished stainless cover. The exhaust is a dual back-of-cab setup with a left-hand stack and the DPF/SCR mounted under the cab on the right. It has 24" chrome standpipes (5" diameter) with curved tips and a DPF regeneration switch. The trailer connections are a 12' straight three-in-one air/electric line with two 7-way plugs, a chromed hose tenna, and a 15' ISO cable for trailer ABS power. The frame-mounted deck plate on the right has polished access steps. The polished aluminum battery box has non-slip steps and heavy-duty reinforcement, and the aftertreatment cab entry step is also aluminum and non-slip. Also on the chassis are a Kissling 300A power disconnect, a low voltage disconnect, a battery jumper terminal and polished aluminum air tanks with pull cords. The Bendix AD-HF air dryer is heated. The front bumper is a polished, deep tapered aluminum bumper with a toe step cutout. It has a removable bugscreen, a stainless outside sunvisor, bright-finish motorized and heated aero mirrors with integrated convex lenses, and a passenger look-down mirror. An air horn is mounted under the cab. Hogebuilt 27" stainless quarter fenders carry white Peterbilt top flaps, and the rear mudflaps hang on stainless spring-loaded hangers. For lighting, it has projector headlights, fender-mounted turn signals, five aero LED marker lights, and LED stop/turn/tail/backup lights at the end of frame. It also has two flush-mounted LED load lights and a dash switch that powers the J560 with the key off. The paint is a two-stage Axalta finish in white on the cab, hood, roof and fenders, with a black frame.
Tires & Wheels
The front has Bridgestone R283S Ecopia 11R22.5 16-ply tires on extra-polished Accuride 22.5x8.25 aluminum wheels with an Accu-Shield finish on both sides. The rear has eight Bridgestone M713 Ecopia 11R22.5 14-ply tires. They are mounted on Accuride Accu-Lite Steel Armor 22.5x8.25 wheels (steel inner, aluminum outer), extra-polished with an Accu-Shield finish. Wheel guards are fitted on the steer and tandem axles.
