Engine & Drivetrain
The Cummins X15 (Prod Series, 2024 emissions) is rated at 500 HP at 1,900 RPM, governed at 2,000 RPM, with 1,650 lb-ft of torque at 950 RPM. It is a 2026 model year engine, EPA emissions compliant and EPA idling compliant. The powertrain is optimized for performance and uses EMUX electronics architecture. It comes with a Jacobs compression brake controlled from the right-hand column, a Predictive Cruise Control package, a Horton on/off fan clutch and a high-efficiency cooling system. It also has a 37.4 CFM air compressor, a PACCAR 160-amp brushed alternator, a PACCAR 12V starter, a firewall-mounted air cleaner and a 110–120V immersion-type block heater.
Three PACCAR Premium 12V dual-purpose batteries supply 2,190 CCA. They have a low-voltage disconnect system and a Kissling 300A cab power disconnect switch mounted on the battery box. On the fuel side it has a PACCAR extended-service-interval fuel/water separator with fuel heat. Exhaust is a single right-hand side-of-cab system with a single-module DPF/SCR under the right side of the cab. It finishes in a 42" tall, 5" diameter chrome standpipe with clear coat and a curved tip.
The transmission is an Eaton Endurant EEO-16F112C12 automated 12-speed with no cooler. It has a performance shift calibration, neutral coast mode at the pedal, and a column-mounted shifter on the right side. It has dual PTO provisions: a rear-mount PTO port on the transmission and two dash-mounted single-acting electric-over-air PTO controls. There is also a 12-pin remote PTO/throttle provision in the engine bay. The engine is programmed with a 75 MPH maximum accelerator vehicle speed, a 75 MPH maximum cruise control speed and a 1,400 RPM PTO maximum engine speed, and engine protection shutdown is enabled. The effective VSL setting is 65.0 MPH or greater, and typical operating speed is 70 MPH. The drivelines are a Spicer SPL170 HD-XL main and an SPL170 XL interaxle, both service-free.
Chassis & Axles
The frame uses 10-3/4" steel rails to 354" at 3/8" rail thickness, with aluminum crossmembers and heavy-duty iron front spring brackets. The end of frame is tractor-tapered with a crossmember and kingpin cutout. It measures 90.10" from the front axle to the back of the cab, 115.90" from the cab to the axle, and 173.90" from the cab to the end of the frame.
The front axle is a Dana Spicer E1252IL rated at 12,500 lbs with a 3.5" drop and wide track. It has TRW THP60 power steering with a frame-mounted reservoir, PHP10 iron Preset+ hubs, gusseted cam brackets and heavy-duty cam bushings. The rear axle is a Dana Spicer DSP41 tandem rated at 40,000 lbs with a 3.55 ratio and PHP10 iron Preset+ hubs. All axles use synthetic lubricant. The front axle is rated at 12,500 lbs and each rear axle at 20,000 lbs, for a GVWR of 52,500 lbs and a GCW of 80,000 lbs.
Brakes are Bendix air cam drums, 16.5x5 HP up front and 16.5x7 in the rear. The brake system includes 6S6M ABS, Bendix ESP electronic stability with ATC, a pneumatic park brake and a tire pressure monitoring system. The air system has a Bendix AD-HF EP air dryer with heater, coalescing filter and extended purge, plus steel painted air tanks with pull cords, nylon chassis hose and a self-returning dash-mounted brake hand valve.
