Overview
Overview: This 2027 Peterbilt 567 Conventional is a tri-axle day cab spec'd for general freight. It has a 235" wheelbase and a GVWR and GCW of 80,000 lbs. The cab, hood, fenders and roof are Axalta two-stage Radiant Fire with a black frame. It's paired with a 17 ft Heritage aluminum smooth side body with a polished finish, a front telescopic hoist, an air tailgate and an Aero electric arm flip tarp.
Engine & Drivetrain: Power comes from a Cummins X15 Performance Series (2024 emissions), rated 565 @ 1900 RPM and 1850 @ 1000 RPM, governed at 1900 RPM. The powertrain is optimized for performance in vocational applications or with heavy GCWR. It's paired with an Allison 4500 RDS-P Gen 6 Rugged Duty Series transmission in a 6-speed configuration. The transmission has a TC-571 torque converter, a dash-mounted push button shifter, Neutral at Stop and Primary Shift Schedule 1. Spicer SPL170 HD-XL drivelines run to a 4.30 rear axle ratio. The truck also has a Jacobs compression brake with controls on the right-hand column, a 160 amp PACCAR alternator and a PACCAR premium starter. Three PACCAR premium 12V dual-purpose batteries are rated at 2,190 CCA, with a Kissling 300A power disconnect switch and a low voltage disconnect system. Other engine equipment includes an 18.7 CFM air compressor, a 2-speed fan clutch for frequent start/stops, a high efficiency cooling system, a fuel cooler and fuel heat for the fuel filter. There is a PACCAR extended-service-interval fuel/water separator, dual self-cleaning under-hood pre-cleaners and a 110-120V block heater. PTO provisions include a 12-pin remote PTO/throttle in the engine bay, a dash-mounted electric-over-hydraulic PTO control and a PTO maximum engine speed of 1400 RPM. The exhaust is a dual SOC setup with the DPF/SCR single module under the right side of the cab. It finishes with 7" chrome standpipes 36" tall with curved tips, plus a DPF regeneration switch. The engine is CARB emission compliant and meets CARB and EPA idling rules, with an idle shutdown timer set at 5 minutes. Maximum cruise and accelerator vehicle speed are set at 68 MPH.
Chassis & Axles: The frame uses 10-3/4" steel rails to 354" with 3/8" rail thickness and a full steel inner liner. It has heavy-duty iron front spring brackets, aluminum crossmembers and a square end of frame ready for a body builder installed crossmember. Up front is a 20,000 lb PACCAR FX-20 wide-track steer axle with a 4" drop and TRW THP60 dual-gear power steering. The power steering reservoir is frame mounted with a cooler. The rear is a Dana Spicer D46-172 46,000 lb tandem with heavy wall housings, a drive axle lube pump and synthetic lubricant on all axles. Driver-controlled diff locks have a speed interlock, and Bendix Smart ATC traction control can be run separately from the dash. A Hendrickson EXS20 20,000 lb self-steering pusher axle sits 50" from the forward drive axle. It has a lift axle regulator with a dash switch and gauge, and it stows higher to maximize ground clearance. Bendix ADB22X air disc brakes are fitted on the steer and drive axles, with air disc brakes on the pusher. Every position uses PHP10 iron Preset Plus hubs. Braking also includes 6S6M ABS, a pneumatic park brake, an SBM valve and a Bendix AD-HF EP air dryer with heater. Gross axle weight ratings are 20,000 lbs front, 20,000 lbs first intermediate, 23,000 lbs second intermediate and 23,000 lbs rear.
Suspension: The front runs taper leaf springs with Tenneco shocks rated at 20,000 lbs, plus greasable spring pins and 80 mm spacer blocks. The rear is Peterbilt Air Trac 46,000 lb suspension with 52" axle spacing, air springs with internal bumpers, a single leveling valve and a dash-mounted dump switch with indicator light. Air bag guards are installed on the rear suspension.
Cab & Interior: The cab is a VOC 121" BBC aluminum day cab with a Metton hood, stainless crown and grille, and tilt assist. The interior is Prestige in Sterling Gray with a thermal insulation package and cab air suspension. The driver sits in a Peterbilt LX premium-level seat that is air ride, high back and leather, with dual armrests. The passenger has a high-back Mordura seat with a toolbox and tow hook holders underneath. The tilt/telescope column carries a leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel with audio and cruise controls. The dash centers on a 15" digital cluster with gauges for both drive axle oil temps, engine and transmission oil temps, suspension and pusher axle pressures, turbo boost, engine percent torque, and engine and PTO hourmeters. Other cab features include a 7" infotainment display with Apple CarPlay, a four-speaker midlevel package and a Cobra 29 CB radio. Power locks and windows are standard, along with a combination heater/AC, dark window tint, a one-piece curved windshield and a fixed one-piece rear window. Outside are a stainless steel sunvisor and motorized, heated Peterbilt aero mirrors with bright housings. There is also a look-down mirror, a removable bugscreen, projector headlights, LED aero marker lights and a 107 dB backup alarm. The truck includes global telematics hardware and a 5-year SmartLINQ RD subscription.
Body & Equipment: The Heritage aluminum smooth side body is 17 ft long and 96" wide. The sides are 60" tall plus an 8" board, with 2" x 8" boards on each side. Sides and posts are polished extruded panels with a .180" inner sheet, finished with a 9" polished extruded top rail and 3/16" polished dirt shedders. The floor is 1/4" up front and 3/8" across the rear 96". It sits on 6" I-beam longsills with rubber cushion and 3-1/2" boxed extruded crossmembers on 12" centers. The bulkhead is 1/4" polished, and the 18" cab shield is 3/16" polished with a 6" face. The 68" polished smooth side tailgate is 1/4" material with an overslung top hinge, air tailgate controls, chains, a center coal door, salt locks on each side and a sand seal. A pin-to-pin front telescopic hoist runs a 3-line hydraulic system with shutoff valves and feathering valve air control. Hydraulic controls include a control tower between the seats, a pump kickout switch, an aluminum frame-mounted hydraulic tank, and PTO-engaged and body-up lights in the dash. Lighting is an LED package with stop/turn/tail in the rear posts and split light panels. There are 8 marker lights per side top and bottom and 6 more in the rear posts. Strobes are set into the front of the cab shield and each rear post. The body also has a front driver-side ladder with a step, front inside steps, polished aluminum front splash shields and full-width Heritage rear flaps. A 6" bolt-on apron, polished aluminum fender skirts over the drives and lift axle, and a body prop round out the equipment. The Aero electric arm flip tarp is a mesh tarp with top-mount arms. Boards, steel hardware and 1/4" top and bottom rail striping match the cab. Chassis provisions for the upfit include body connections, a 7-way socket at the end of frame and beacon/strobe wiring. There are also LED load lights with dash switch wiring and auxiliary marker light wiring.
Tires & Wheels: The steer axle runs BR M870 20-ply 315/80R22.5 tires on Alcoa 22.5x9.00 high-polish aluminum wheels. The pusher axle has two of the same tire-and-wheel combination. The drives carry eight BR M726ELA 14-ply 11R24.5 tires on Alcoa 24.5x8.25 high-polish aluminum wheels. All wheels have mirror polish and a Dura-Bright finish on the outer surfaces. Tandem wheel guards and a tire pressure monitoring system are included.
Fuel & Tanks: The truck carries a 26" polished aluminum 110-gallon fuel tank on the left side under the cab, with a non-slip step and polished straps. The 24-gallon DEF tank sits behind the cab on the left with a polished stainless cover. The aluminum battery box is on the right with side access, next to a non-slip aftertreatment cab entry step. Other details include polished aluminum air tanks and a polished deep tapered aluminum bumper.
