Overview
This new 2027 Peterbilt 567 conventional day cab tractor is set up for on/off-highway construction dump work and is spec'd to pull a 53' two-axle semi-end dump trailer. It is rated for an 80,000 lb gross combination weight and a 6% maximum grade. The truck has 2024 Series emissions, Bendix ESP electronic stability with traction control, and a clean white finish over a black frame.
Engine & Drivetrain
Power comes from a Cummins X15 Performance Series engine rated at 525 HP at 1,900 RPM with 1,850 lb-ft of torque at 1,000 RPM, governed at 1,900 RPM, with 2024 emissions and CARB and EPA idling compliance. It's backed by an Eaton Endurant XD Pro EXDP-18F118D 18-speed automated transmission with an oil-to-water cooler, a right-hand column-mounted shifter, performance shift calibration, a rock free mode dash switch, and neutral coast mode at the pedal. The powertrain is optimized for balanced service with frequent start and stop cycles. It's geared with a 3.70 rear axle ratio for a typical operating speed of 65 MPH, and the road speed limit is set at 65 MPH. A Jacobs compression brake, a predictive cruise control package, a 2-speed fan clutch built for frequent start/stops, and a high-efficiency cooling system are included. Other engine equipment includes a 37.4 CFM air compressor, a firewall-mounted air cleaner, a PACCAR fuel/water separator with extended service interval, fuel filter heat, and an immersion-type 110–120V block heater. The driveline uses an RPL25 SD main driveline with one midship bearing and an RPL20 interaxle driveline. PTO provisions include a 12-pin remote PTO/throttle connection in the engine bay and a dash-mounted single-acting electric-over-air PTO control, with PTO maximum engine speed set at 1,400 RPM. The engine idle shutdown timer is set at 5 minutes and includes an ambient temperature override.
Chassis & Axles
The frame is built on 10-5/8" steel rails with 5/16" rail thickness, zinc-coated anti-corrosion treatment, and aluminum crossmembers, finished with a tapered tractor end of frame and a kingpin cutout. Wheelbase is 220", with a cab-to-axle measurement of 129.9", cab-to-end-of-frame of 184.6", and front axle-to-back of cab of 90.1". The front axle is a Dana Spicer E1322IL rated at 13,200 lbs with a 3.5" drop and wide track. At the rear are Dana Spicer DSH40 High Performance 40 tandem drive axles rated at 40,000 lbs, with tandem diff locks with speed interlock and synthetic lubricant in all axles. GAWR is 13,200 lbs front and 20,000 lbs on each drive axle, for a GVWR of 53,200 lbs. Meritor EX+ LS air disc brakes are fitted on the steer and tandem drive axles, with severe-service rotors and PHP10 Iron Preset+ hubs throughout. Braking and safety systems include Bendix ESP with ATC, a 6S6M anti-lock braking system, a traction control deactivation switch, a pneumatic park brake, and a tire pressure monitoring system. Steering is a Sheppard HD94 power steering gear with a frame-mounted reservoir. A chromed, deep-tapered steel bumper has two tow points.
