Engine & Drivetrain
Power comes from a Cummins X15 Productivity Series engine rated at 565 HP at 1,950 RPM, governed at 2,000 RPM, with 1,850 lb-ft of torque at 1,000 RPM. It is 2024-emissions, CARB-emission compliant, and EPA and CARB idling compliant. The powertrain is optimized for performance in vocational and heavy-GCWR applications, with a typical operating speed of 70 MPH, an effective VSL setting of 65.0 MPH or greater, a maximum cruise speed of 68 MPH and a maximum accelerator vehicle speed of 75 MPH. A predictive cruise control package is included. The truck has a Jacobs compression brake with controls on the right-hand column and engine protection shutdown. The idle shutdown timer is enabled with an ambient temperature override. The transmission is an Eaton RTLO20918B 18-speed with an oil-to-water cooler, a chrome manual shifter, a self-adjusting clutch and a pre-damped clutch. The driveline is an RPL25 SD with one midship bearing and an RPL20 interaxle, and the rear axle ratio is 3.70. For PTO work, it has a remote PTO/throttle 12-pin provision in the engine bay, a dash-mounted single-acting electric-over-air PTO control and a PTO maximum engine speed of 1,400 RPM. Supporting equipment includes the EMUX electronics architecture, a PACCAR 160-amp brushed alternator, a PACCAR 12V starter, three PACCAR Premium 12V dual-purpose batteries (2,190 CCA), a battery jumper terminal, a Kissling 300A power disconnect switch, and a low-voltage disconnect system. The engine also has a 110–120V immersion block heater, a 2-speed fan clutch for frequent start/stops, an 18.7 CFM aspirated air compressor and a high-efficiency cooling system. Fuel handling includes a PACCAR extended-service fuel/water separator with fuel heat and 12V heat for the fuel filter. Intake is through 15" premium stainless steel cowl-mounted air cleaners with slotted stainless caps. Exhaust is a dual SOC system with the DPF/SCR single module under the right side of the cab, venting through 7" chrome-plated standpipes that are 36" tall and have 45-degree cut curved tips.
Chassis & Axles
The 225" wheelbase measures 99.9" from front axle to back of cab, 125.1" from cab to axle and 180.1" from cab to end of frame.
