Overview
Overview
This 2027 Peterbilt Model 567 Conventional day cab is configured as a quad-axle end dump truck for construction materials hauling and on/off-highway construction dump service. It's built with a Cummins X15 engine, an Allison 4500 RDS-P automatic transmission, tandem 46,000 lb rear axles plus dual self-steering pusher axles, and a Heritage Steel Smooth Side 19' dump body. The truck carries an 85,000 lb GVWR (20,000 lb front axle load / 46,000 lb rear axle load / 85,000 lb GCW) on a 276" wheelbase.
Engine & Drivetrain
Power comes from a Cummins X15 rated 450 HP at 1900 rpm, governed at 2000 rpm, with 1650 lb-ft of torque at 950 rpm — a PROD Series engine built to 2024 emissions standards and carrying a model year 2026 engine designation. The truck runs EMUX electronics architecture and is CARB and EPA engine-idling compliant. A Jacobs compression brake (ISX/ISX15/X15) is fitted with controls on the RH column, along with engine protection shutdown (with label) and a high-efficiency cooling system. Air intake uses dual self-cleaning pre-cleaners under the hood with a firewall-mounted air cleaner, and the exhaust routes through a single RH SOC with DPF/SCR under the cab in a single module, finished with a curved-tip standpipe and a 24" tall, 5" diameter chrome standpipe with clear coat. A PACCAR fuel/water separator with extended service interval and fuel heat for the fuel filter round out the fuel system, and the engine bay includes a remote PTO/throttle provision (12-pin) with PTO maximum engine speed set to 1,400 rpm. Electrical equipment includes a PACCAR 160 amp brushed alternator, a PACCAR premium starter (X15-specific), three PACCAR premium 12V dual-purpose batteries rated 2,190 CCA, a cab and sleeper power disconnect switch mounted on the B-box (Kissling 300A), and a low voltage disconnect system. A 2-speed fan clutch is specified for frequent start/stop duty, and the air compressor is rated 37.4 CFM. The transmission is an Allison 4500 RDS-P, Gen 6 Rugged Duty Series, in a 6-speed configuration with a dash-mounted push-button shifter, auto neutral activation with the parking brake, and Allison Neutral at Stop. Driveline components include an RPL20 interaxle driveline and an RPL25 SD driveline with two midship bearings, along with a park brake interlock for the transmission-mounted PTO and a dash-mounted single-acting electric-over-hydraulic PTO control.
Chassis & Axles
The frame uses 10-3/4" steel rails extending to 354" with 3/8" rail thickness and a full steel inner liner, along with HD iron front spring brackets front and rear and aluminum frame rail crossmembers (suspension excluded). The front axle is a PACCAR FX-20 rated 20,000 lbs with a 4" drop, riding on taper leaf springs and shocks, with Sheppard HD94 dual-gear power steering and a frame-mounted, cooled reservoir. Front hubs are PHP10 iron Preset+ with air disc brakes (Bendix ADB22X), greasable front spring pins, and 80mm front spring spacer blocks. The rear axle is a Meritor RT46-164E rated 46,000 lbs with a 5/8" wall, running a 4.10 ratio with a differential lock across the tandem axles and speed interlock, and Bendix ADB22X air disc rear brakes. Two Watson-Chalin SL13 self-steering pusher axles are fitted, each rated 13,500 lbs and including two air tanks, spaced 48" and 92" from the centerline of the forward drive axle; the pusher axles themselves carry an 11,020 lb rating and use PHP10 aluminum Preset+ hubs (cast drums on the self-steering axle, air disc elsewhere). The stowed lift axle lowers to maximize body clearance, with a regulator and gauge located at the driver's seat and a switch and gauge in the dash. Engineering-assigned ratings are 20,000 lbs GAWR front, 11,020 lbs at the first intermediate axle, 23,000 lbs at the second intermediate axle, 23,000 lbs GAWR rear, and an 85,000 lb GVWR. The chassis also includes ABS (6S6M) with an off-road switch, a tire pressure monitoring system, synthetic axle lubricant on all axles, an SBM valve, and a pneumatic park brake. The frame end-of-frame is square without a crossmember (for a body-builder-installed crossmember), fitted with two Holland TH-10050 tow hooks at the EOF, and rear mudflaps and hangers are omitted.
Suspension
The rear suspension is a Hendrickson HMX EX 460 rated 46,000 lbs with 54" HaulMAAX and a 70K creep rating, paired with matched shock absorbers. The cab rides on cab air suspension.
Cab & Interior
The cab is a VOC 121 BBC aluminum cab with a Metton hood (SFFA), a stainless steel crown and grille, and tilt assist. It's configured as a day cab (no sleeper) with a thermal insulation package and 4.5" rubber fender lips. The interior is finished in Prestige trim in Sterling Gray, with a Peterbilt LX premium driver's seat (air ride, high back, Mordura trim) and a Peterbilt ST non-adjustable passenger seat (non-air ride, high back, Mordura trim), both in black, plus driver's armrests on both sides. A toolbox is fitted under the passenger seat (non-suspension seat). The steering wheel is multi-function (with PB logo, audio, and cruise controls) on a tilt/telescope adjustable column, with vanity mirrors on the inside sunvisors and a stainless steel outside sunvisor. Peterbilt Aero rear-view mirrors are motorized, heated, and body-color with integrated convex glass, plus a black-housed look-down mirror over the passenger door. The cab entry grabhandle is textured and NFPA compliant, the day cab windows carry dark tint, and the truck has a one-piece curved windshield with a fixed one-piece glass rear window. Power door locks and power windows are standard, along with a combo fresh air heater/air conditioner with an additional fine particulate filter. Other cab equipment includes an air horn mounted under the cab, a ConcertClass AM/FM/WB radio with 3.5mm aux input, a standard two-speaker package, Bluetooth phone and audio with a USB port, a Uniden PC78LTX CB radio mounted at the center of the header (without weatherband) with an antenna at the LH cowl, global telematics hardware, and wiring provisions for ELD telematics. Interior conveniences include a rear wall deep record/map pocket and electric windshield wipers with an intermittent feature, along with auto reset circuit protection, a triangle reflector kit, a fire extinguisher mounted inboard of the driver's seat, and a backup alarm rated 107 dB. The main instrument panel is a 15" digital cluster display showing engine oil temperature, transmission oil temperature, air filter restriction pressure, brake application air pressure, engine hourmeter, engine PTO hourmeter, engine manifold (turbo boost) pressure, engine percent torque, and pusher axle pressure readouts for both pusher axles.
