Overview
This 2026 Peterbilt 579 conventional sleeper tractor is configured for long-haul highway service with an 80" Ultraloft sleeper, Prestige interior, and a PACCAR MX-13/TX-12 automated powertrain. Finished in white with a black frame, two-stage Axalta paint.

Engine & Drivetrain
PACCAR MX-13 rated at 455 HP at 1,600 RPM (governed at 2,200 RPM) with 1,650 lb-ft of torque at 900 RPM, 2024-emissions compliant. Paired with a PACCAR TX-12 PO-16F112C12 automated 12-speed transmission (no cooler), column-mounted shifter on the RH side, neutral coast mode, and economy shift calibration. RPL20 driveline interaxle and RPL25 SD driveline with 1 midship bearing. Rear axle ratio 2.85, set up for a typical operating speed of 65 MPH (effective VSL setting 65.0 MPH). Equipped with a PACCAR engine compression brake, PACCAR 160-amp brushed alternator, 3 PACCAR premium 12V dual-purpose batteries (2,190 CCA), low voltage disconnect system, immersion-type block heater (110–120V), variable speed direct drive fan clutch, WABCO 25.9 CFM air compressor, high-efficiency cooling system, PACCAR fuel/water separator (extended service interval), and single RH horizontal exhaust with DPF/SCR under cab (single module, regeneration switch with remove-stop position).

Chassis & Axles
Front axle: Meritor MFS+12E rated 12,500 lbs with 3.5" drop, taper leaf springs and 12,000 lb shocks, TRW THP60 power steering with frame-mounted reservoir. Rear axle: PACCAR DX-40 rated 40,000 lbs (tandem drive). PHP10 aluminum preset+ hubs (air disc) and Bendix ADB22X-LT air disc brakes front and rear. Front axle load 12,000 lbs, rear axle load 40,000 lbs, GVWR 52,000 lbs, GCW 80,000 lbs. Wheelbase 240", maximum grade rating 6%. Frame consists of 10-5/8" steel rails (326"–384") at 5/16" thickness with aluminum frame rail crossmembers, tapered EOF tractor frame with kingpin cutout. Jost JSK37 fifth wheel top plate set at centerline of bogie, inboard air-slide mounting (18" slide), 6.6"–7" fifth wheel height, LH release. Safety systems include Bendix ESP electronic stability program with ATC, RH-side sensor for Bendix collision mitigation, adjustable following distance adaptive cruise control, Bendix Fusion stop and auto-go advanced, ABS 6S6M, tire pressure monitoring system, and synthetic axle lubricant on all axles.

Suspension
PB Low Air Leaf rear suspension rated 40,000 lbs, 52" axle spread, light-weight configuration, with a dash-mounted dump switch and suspension indicator light. Pneumatic park brake.

Cab & Interior
Aero 118 BBC aluminum cab with Metton hood and thermal insulation package. 80" Ultraloft sleeper with Prestige interior in Sterling Gray, coil spring mattress, second bunk with ladder, wardrobe cabinet shelves, sleeper walkthrough curtain, and 1.8 FT3 refrigerator. Sleeper cabinet door & drawer package, LH full-height access door with tilting window, RH sleeper baggage door, RH sleeper side tilting window, USB port and 12V power outlet in sleeper, rear sleeper audio controls, D2 fuel-fired sleeper heater with digital controller, and combo fresh air heater/air conditioner. Peterbilt LX premium driver and passenger seats, air ride, high back, with driver and passenger armrests. Multi-function steering wheel with PB logo, audio and cruise controls, adjustable tilt/telescoping column. One-piece curved windshield with privacy curtain, vanity mirrors on sunvisors, power door locks and power window lifts. Digital cluster 15" display showing engine oil temperature, air filter restriction pressure, brake application air pressure, suspension air pressure, engine hourmeter, engine manifold pressure (turbo boost), and engine percent torque. Global telematics hardware with wiring provisions for telematics and ELD (J1939), plus SmartLINQ remote diagnostics with a 5-year subscription.

Body & Equipment
Aero bumper, molded 3-piece, painted body color, with lower aero fairing. Chassis aero fairings painted body color, LH and RH fairings running from quarter fender to BOS, front tire closeouts and bumper-to-hood seals. EPIQ aero package (to BOS) with aero closeout under the cab/sleeper sides, and 18" sleeper extenders with 3" rubber flares. Aero aluminum battery box (LH under-cab) and aluminum non-slip aftertreatment cab entry step (RH under-cab). Dual aluminum fuel tanks — 135-gallon RH BOC and 110-gallon LH BOC — with center fill, dual draw/return shutoff valves, anti-siphon devices, and triple straps per tank. 20-gallon aero medium DEF tank, LH BOC. Composite fender-mounted headlights with integral DRL, park, turn, and side marker; (5) aero LED marker lights; daytime running lights; self-canceling turn signal; LED oval stop/turn/tail/backup lights; (2) LED load lights flush-mounted mid-inboard BOS.
