New 2027 Peterbilt Model 589 Traditional day cab tractor, configured for construction materials hauling in construction dump on/off-highway service. Set up to pull a 53' semi-end dump trailer (13.5' height, 36" kingpin, 2 trailer axles). Wheelbase 250", GVWR 59,200 lbs, GCW 110,000 lbs, front axle load 13,200 lbs, rear axle load 46,000 lbs, maximum grade 6%, 100% highway operation.

Engine & Drivetrain
X15 engine rated 605 HP @ 1,950 rpm, governed at 2,000 rpm, 2,050 lb-ft @ 1,000 rpm, 2024 emissions series. EMUX electronics architecture. Predictive cruise control package. Powertrain optimized for performance GCWR in vocational applications. Typical operating speed 75 mph. Jacobs compression brake with engine brake controls on RH column. Remote PTO/throttle provision (12-pin, engine bay). PACCAR 160-amp brushed alternator, PACCAR premium starter, 4 PACCAR premium 12V dual-purpose batteries (2,920 CCA). Immersion-type block heater (110-120V). 2-speed fan clutch for frequent start/stops. 18.7 CFM aspirated air compressor. High-efficiency cooling system. PACCAR fuel/water separator with heated fuel filter (fuel heat and 12V heat). 15" premium stainless steel air cleaners, cowl mounted with slotted stainless caps. Dual SOC exhaust with DPF/SCR under cab, single module; chrome dual exhaust with curved-tip and 36" chrome standpipes.
Transmission: Eaton RTLO20918B 18-speed with oil-to-water cooler, self-adjust and pre-damped clutch, chrome manual shifter. SPL350 HD-XL driveline with midship bearing; SPL250 XL interaxle driveline for tandem rear axles. Dash-mounted single-acting electric-over-air PTO control.

Chassis & Axles
Frame: 10-3/4" steel rails to 354", 3/8" rail thickness, zinc-coated anti-corrosion treated. Front axle: Dana Spicer D1321IL, 13,200 lbs, 3.5" drop, with Peterbilt front air leaf, Sheppard HD94 power steering, PHP10 aluminum preset+ air disc hubs, air disc front brakes, wide-track configuration, and Tenneco steer axle shocks. Rear axle: Dana Spicer D46-172, 46,000 lbs, with 3.91 ratio, heavy-wall housings, lube pump, PHP10 aluminum preset+ air disc hubs, air disc rear brakes, and differential lock with speed interlock. GAWR: front 13,200 lbs; intermediate axles 23,000 lbs each. Bendix ESP electronic stability program with ATC. Anti-lock braking system (ABS 6S6M) with ISO trailer ABS power connector and 15' straight ISO cable. Tire pressure monitoring system. Synthetic axle lubricant, all axles.
Fifth wheel: Holland FW35 top plate, bolted mounting, set behind bogie centerline 6", inboard air-slide mounting, LH release, 8.6"-9.25" height, Holland heavy-duty air slide with 30" no-tilt convertible slide and slide controls. Tapered EOF crossmember with kingpin cutout; frame-mounted deck plate/access package (LH side); chromed steel Texas-style bumper with 2 tow points.
Fuel/DEF: 120-gallon aluminum fuel tank RH BOC and 110-gallon aluminum fuel tank LH BOC (split tank configuration, forward-mounted, rear fill, polished, with additional sending unit); 24-gallon medium DEF tank mounted LH BOC with polished stainless cover, positioned rearward of the fuel/hydraulic tank, 2:1 DEF-to-fuel ratio. Bendix AD-HF air dryer with heater, coalescing filter and extended purge; polished aluminum air tanks outside the frame rails.

Suspension
Peterbilt Air Trac, 46,000 lbs, 52" axle spacing, with steel suspension insert (up to 77" overhang), internal-bumper air springs, forward-drive-axle leveling valve, dash-mounted dump switch with indicator light, and cab air suspension.

Cab & Interior
Aluminum cab, 131" BBC, aluminum hood with polished crown and spring tilt assist. SmartSound cab insulation package. Peterbilt keyless entry. Polished stainless rocker panels. Day cab configuration (no sleeper). Peterbilt LX premium driver and passenger seats, heated driver seat, LH/RH driver armrests, LH passenger armrest, black seat color, red seat belts, air ride/high-back/leather driver and passenger seating. Adjustable tilt/telescope steering column with premium leather-wrapped multi-function wheel (audio, cruise, PB logo). Platinum interior in Alpine Gray with rubber flooring. Electronics: 7" infotainment display with Apple CarPlay, premium 6-speaker package with tweeters, Uniden Bearcat 880 CB radio with weatherband and antenna, global telematics hardware installed (SmartLinq disabled per Massachusetts Right to Repair law), 15" digital instrument cluster displaying drive axle oil temps, engine oil temp, transmission oil temp, rear axle heat, air filter restriction, tractor/trailer brake air pressure, suspension air pressure, trailer reservoir air pressure, secondary fuel level, engine and PTO hourmeters, turbo boost, and engine percent torque.
