New 2027 Peterbilt 589 Traditional day cab tractor (no sleeper), VIN 1XPED40X5VD824024. Configured for construction materials hauling in on/off-highway construction dump service, set up to pull a 53' semi-end dump trailer via fifth wheel rather than carrying a mounted body. Wheelbase of 240", GVWR of 59,200 lbs, and GCW rating of 110,000 lbs. Finished in a two-stage Axalta red cab, hood, fender, and roof over a black frame.

Engine & Drivetrain
PACCAR X15 engine rated 605 hp @ 1950 rpm, governed at 2000 rpm, with 2050 lb-ft of torque @ 1000 rpm (2024 emissions series, 2026 model year engine). EMUX electronics architecture and predictive cruise control package. Jacobs engine compression brake with controls on the RH steering column. Eaton RTLO20918B 18-speed transmission with oil-to-water cooler, manual chrome shifter, self-adjust clutch, and pre-damped clutch. SPL350 HD-XL driveline with one midship bearing and SPL250 XL interaxle driveline for the tandem rear axles. Remote PTO/throttle provision (12-pin, engine bay) and a dash-mounted single-acting electric-over-air PTO control. PACCAR 160-amp brushed alternator, PACCAR premium starter, four PACCAR premium 12V batteries (2920 CCA), and a low voltage disconnect system. 18.7 CFM aspirated air compressor, high-efficiency cooling system, 15" premium stainless steel cowl-mounted air cleaners, and a 2-speed fan clutch for frequent start/stop cycles. Front axle: Dana Spicer D1321IL rated 13,200 lbs with 3.5" drop and wide-track configuration, mounted on Peterbilt front air leaf suspension with dual height control valve and greasable spring pins. Rear axle: Dana Spicer D46-172 rated 46,000 lbs with a 3.91 ratio and differential lock with speed interlock across the tandem. GAWR ratings: front 13,200 lbs, first intermediate 23,000 lbs, second intermediate 23,000 lbs; GVWR 59,200 lbs. Bendix ESP electronic stability program with ATC, ABS (6S6M), and tire pressure monitoring system. Air disc brakes front and rear with PHP10 aluminum preset+ hubs and dust shields throughout. Heavy-wall drive axles with lube pump and synthetic axle lubricant. Maximum grade rating of 6%, 100% highway operation.

Suspension
Peterbilt Air Trac rear suspension rated 46,000 lbs with 52" axle spacing, steel suspension insert supporting up to 77" overhang, and air springs with internal bumpers. Single leveling valve located forward of the drive axle, dash-mounted dump switch with indicator light, and cab air suspension.

Cab & Interior
Aluminum day cab, 131" BBC, with aluminum hood, polished crown, and spring tilt assist. SmartSound cab insulation package, keyless entry, and polished stainless rocker panels. Peterbilt LX driver seat (premium level, heated) and LX passenger seat (premium level), both air ride with high-back, leather trim, and armrests. Platinum interior in Alpine Gray with rubber flooring, adjustable tilt/telescope steering column, and a premium leather-wrapped multi-function steering wheel with PB logo, audio, and cruise controls. Body & Equipment
Set up as a fifth-wheel tractor for 53' semi-end dump trailers (36" kingpin, two trailer axles). Holland FW35 fifth wheel top plate, bolted mount, LH release, 8.6"-9.25" height, heavy-duty air slide with no-tilt convertible feature, 30" slide travel, and slide controls. EOF tractor taper with crossmember and kingpin cutout, plus a frame-mounted deck plate and access package on the LH side. Steel Texas-style chrome bumper with two tow points. Aluminum stylized battery box with non-slip step and polished battery/tool box covers. ISO 3731 trailer ABS power connector and 15' straight ISO cable with 7-way plugs on each end, along with chromed air/electrical hose connections. Bendix AD-HF EP air dryer with heater and extended-purge coalescing filter, polished aluminum air tanks mounted outside the frame rails, and a self-returning dash-mounted brake hand valve.

Front: Continental 16-ply 11R24.5 HSR3. Rear: Continental 16-ply 11R24.5 HDL2 DL+ (8 rear tires). Wheels: Peterbilt 98U677 24.5x8.25 high-polish aluminum front and rear (8 rear rims), finished with mirror-polish outer surfaces and Dura-Bright treatment on the outer wheel faces.

Fuel & DEF
Dual aluminum fuel tanks — 120-gallon RH and 110-gallon LH, both mounted behind the cab and positioned as far forward as possible, polished, with an additional sending unit and thread boss for the secondary tank. 24-gallon DEF tank mounted LH behind cab, positioned rearward of the fuel tank with a polished stainless cover and a 2:1 or greater DEF-to-fuel ratio.
