Overview
This Peterbilt 579 is a 117" BBC aluminum day cab tractor (no sleeper) configured for petroleum products hauling in tanker/liquid bulk service. It's a fifth-wheel tandem-axle tractor with a 190" wheelbase, 52,000 lb GVWR, and 80,000 lb GCW, designed for pairing with tank trailers up to 53' long (13.5' trailer height, 36" kingpin setting) within a 65' overall length and 102" width envelope. This unit has been professionally serviced and maintained by PacLease throughout its service life.

Engine & Drivetrain
Powered by a PACCAR MX-13 engine rated 455 HP at 1,600 RPM, governed at 2,200 RPM, with 1,650 lb-ft of torque at 900 RPM (2017 emissions). Paired with an Eaton Fuller FAO16810C 10-speed overdrive manual transmission (Advantage series, no cooler), manual shifter, self-adjusting clutch, and pre-damped clutch disc. Driveline includes an RPL20 interaxle and RPL25 SD driveline without a midship bearing. Equipped with a Wabco 25.9 CFM air compressor, engine compression brake with controls on the RH steering column, PACCAR 160-amp brushed alternator, 110–120V immersion block heater, premium MX starter, and a 2-speed fan clutch for frequent start/stop duty. Cruise control and vehicle speed limiter are set to 65 MPH, with CARB-compliant idling, configured idle shutdown timers, a remote PTO/throttle control provision (12-pin, engine bay), and Driver Performance Assistant enabled for coaching, braking, and anticipation scoring.

Chassis & Axles
Front axle: Meritor MFS+12E rated 12,500 lbs with a 3.5" drop, wide-track configuration, taper leaf springs, Tenneco shocks (12,000 lbs), Sheppard HD94 power steering with a frame-mounted reservoir, air disc brakes, aluminum PHP10 preset-plus hubs, and 30mm front spring spacer blocks.

Rear axles: PACCAR-rated 40,000 lbs combined (20,000 lbs per intermediate axle) on a 3.36 ratio, with aluminum PHP10 preset-plus hubs, Bendix air cam rear drum brakes (16.5x7), synthetic axle lubricant, gusseted cam brackets, Bendix ESP electronic stability program with ATC, and Bendix Wingman Fusion (side sensor not included). ABS is a Bendix 6S6M system with an ISO 3731 trailer ABS power connector mounted adjacent to the J560 trailer connector.

Ratings: GAWR 12,000 lbs front, 20,000 lbs per tandem intermediate axle; GVWR 52,000 lbs; GCW 80,000 lbs. Wheelbase 190", FAX/BOC 68.2", cab/axle 121.8", cab/EOF 177.8", maximum grade rating 6%.

Frame: 10-5/8" steel rails (285" length, 5/16" thickness) with aluminum crossmembers (excludes suspension), a tapered EOF crossmember with kingpin cutout, mudflap hangers with Fleeteng FB27 painted rear mudflaps (45-degree), braceless Peterbilt stainless steel quarter fenders, a frame-mounted deck plate/access package on the LH side, and a molded 3-piece aero bumper painted body color.

Fifth wheel: Holland FW17 top plate (fixed/rear mount), 7.6"–8" height, Holland lightweight 12" air slide with LH release and slide controls.

Fuel & DEF: 26" aluminum 120-gallon fuel tank mounted LH under cab with a non-slip step, polished, with polished fuel/hydraulic tank straps; DEF tank mounted RH BOC (medium size) with a polished stainless steel cover and a 2:1 (or greater) DEF-to-fuel ratio; PACCAR MX engine fuel cooler included. No RH fuel tank fitted.

Electrical & air equipment: 3 PACCAR AGM 12V batteries (2,400 CCA) in an aluminum space-saver battery box (LH BOC, side access) with a rubber pad and polished cover, plus a low-voltage disconnect system. Air system includes a Bendix AD-IS air dryer with heater and coalescing filter, aluminum painted air tanks with pull cords, nylon chassis air hose, a dash-mounted self-returning brake hand valve, 15' AE lines (3-in-1) with dual 7-way plugs and BOC socket (QCMS2 type), a horizontal AE mounting bar, and constant battery power to the J560 trailer connector (pin 7).

Suspension
Rear suspension is a Peterbilt low air leaf setup rated 40,000 lbs with a 52" axle spread, light-weight configuration, and a dash-mounted dump switch with suspension indicator light.

Cab & Interior
117" BBC aluminum day cab with SMC hood and a Prestige interior in Sterling Gray. Peterbilt ST driver and passenger seats, air-ride high-back driver seat and high-back passenger seat (Mordura trim), with a RH driver's armrest. Adjustable tilt/telescoping steering column with a Peterbilt logo steering wheel. Power door locks and windows, combo fresh-air heater/AC, floor-mounted cup holder, and a stainless steel outside sun visor. Motorized, heated aero mirrors with integrated convex lenses, a black-housing look-down mirror over the passenger door, and bright-housing round hood mirrors with dual-view SST tube arms. Audio is a ConcertClass system (no CD) with Bluetooth phone/audio, AM/FM, weatherband, USB, and MP3, plus a standard 2-speaker package. Cab air suspension is included. Additional equipment: SmartLINQ remote diagnostics, a removable bugscreen, electric windshield wipers with intermittent feature, auto-reset circuit protection, a driver-seat-mounted fire extinguisher, a 107 dB backup alarm, air filter restriction monitoring in the driver information display, and a main instrument panel with driver information display. Exterior lighting includes composite fender-mounted headlights with integral park/turn/side marker lights, five aero LED marker lights, daytime running lights, LED stop/turn/tail/backup lights, PB signature door light turn signals, and two flush-mounted LED load lights. Dark window tint, a one-piece curved windshield, and a 3-piece fixed-glass rear cab window (day cab) complete the cab.

Tires & Wheels
Front tires are Bridgestone 16-ply 295/75R22.5 R284 Ecopia; rear tires are Bridgestone 14-ply 295/75R22.5 M726ELA (qty 8 rear). Wheels are Alcoa 22.5x8.25 clean-buff aluminum front and rear, polished on the outer surface, without chrome wheel nuts.

As a pre-owned unit, this truck comes standard with an Assurant 30-day limited warranty. An Assurant Heavy Truck Extended Service Contract is available as an option, with plan levels ranging from Premium down to Engine Only and terms from 6 months/50,000 miles up to 60 months/625,000 miles. Coverage is subject to a qualifying inspection and approval.
