Overview
This 2024 Peterbilt Model 389 conventional tractor is configured for transportation-equipment hauling in car-carrier service, rated for 100% highway duty. This Red Oval Certified pre-owned unit shows 351,651 miles and 9,800 engine hours, finished in Dark Saddle with a custom nameplate reading "KOLOS."

Engine & Drivetrain
Power comes from a PACCAR MX-13 engine in Performance rating, producing 510 HP at 1,600 RPM governed and 2,200 RPM peak, with 1,850 lb-ft of torque at 1,000 RPM (2021 emissions). It's paired with an Eaton FO18E313A-MHP UltraShift Plus automated transmission featuring an oil-to-water cooler and a column-mounted shifter on the RH side, running an RPL20 interaxle driveline and an RPL25 SD driveline with one midship bearing. Rear axle ratio is 3.08, with typical operating speed set at 75 MPH. The truck is equipped with a PACCAR engine compression brake, engine brake controls mounted on the RH steering column, and cruise control enabled with MX retarder engagement under manual mode engine parameters; the engine idle shutdown timer is disabled and engine monitoring protection (warn) is active. PTO features include cab-station PTO mode control, a dash-mounted single-acting electric-over-air PTO control, and a 12-pin remote PTO/throttle control provision at the engine bay. The front axle is a Dana Spicer E1462I rated 14,600 lbs with a 3.5" drop, taper leaf springs, TRW TAS85 power steering, PHP10 aluminum Preset+ hubs, and greasable front spring pins. The rear axle is a Dana Spicer DSP40 rated 40,000 lbs, also with PHP10 aluminum Preset+ hubs and Bendix Smart ATC traction control. Braking is handled by Bendix air cam drum brakes, 16.5x5 up front and 16.5x7 in the rear, backed by a 6S6M anti-lock braking system on all axles. Wheelbase measures 264", with a 92.80" FAX/BOC, 171.20" cab/axle dimension, and 231.20" cab/EOF dimension; maximum grade rating is 6%. The frame consists of 10-5/8" steel rails (326"–384") at 5/16" thickness with aluminum frame rail crossmembers; frame components are bolted in place of huck-fastened, with a square end-of-frame configured without a crossmember for a body-builder-installed crossmember, and rear mudflaps and hangers omitted for body-builder installation. It rides with a manual sliding fifth wheel, complete with sliding fifth wheel valve and plumbing routed to the end of frame plus 3 ft of additional hose. Fuel is carried in dual 23" aluminum tanks — a 120-gallon tank RH and a 90-gallon tank LH, both mounted behind the cab — for 210 gallons of total capacity, with an additional sending unit in the secondary tank. DEF is supplied from a 24-gallon medium tank with a polished stainless steel cover and a DEF-to-fuel ratio of 2:1 or greater. The air system includes a Bendix AD-HF air dryer with heater and coalescing filter, steel painted air tanks plus aluminum polished air tanks mounted outside the frame rails, pull cords on all air tanks, a non-self-returning dash-mounted brake hand valve, and a 7-way socket connection at the EOF with 4 ft of coiled, strapped lines.

Suspension
The rear suspension is a PB Low Low air leaf setup rated 40,000 lbs with a 52" spread, dash-mounted dump valves with an air suspension indicator light, and heavy-duty tracking rods.

Cab & Interior
The aluminum 123" low-profile cab features a polished crown and spring tilt assist hood, paired with a 58" low-roof sleeper finished in a Platinum interior in Arctic Gray, black floor carpet, and woodgrain A & B panels in charcoal. Seating consists of a Sears Atlas 80 air-ride, high-back driver seat and a Sears air-ride, high-back passenger seat with a leather seating surface, along with driver and passenger armrests. The cab includes a premium multi-function steering wheel, leather-wrapped with integrated audio and cruise controls, a fixed rear window with dark tint, a two-piece flat windshield, and PB electric windshield wipers with an intermittent feature. Climate control is handled by a combo fresh air heater/air conditioner with separate PB comfort controls for cab and sleeper, while visibility is supported by motorized, heated traditional mirrors plus a pair of 8" heated stainless convex mirrors. Entertainment features include satellite radio, a ConcertClass AM/FM/weatherband radio with 3.5mm aux, Bluetooth phone/audio with a USB port, midlevel speaker packages for the cab (4 speakers) and sleeper (2 speakers with subwoofer), and a Cobra 40-channel CB radio with an integral speaker on a dual RAMI multiband antenna system. A digital 15" main instrumentation cluster displays transmission temp, front and rear drive axle oil temp, engine oil temp, air restriction, air suspension pressure, fuel filter restriction, tractor brake application, and manifold pressure gauges. Rounding out the cab are Peterbilt keyless entry, a thermal insulation package (cab and 58" low roof), a UL-listed/rated ABC fire extinguisher mounted in the sleeper baggage compartment, a ship-loose triangle reflector kit, and additional auxiliary switch provisions including a dash-mounted hot switch, spare electric-over-air rocker switches, and extra dash switches for aftermarket equipment.

Body & Equipment
The truck carries a 240" long by 156" high platform body with devices, configured for car-carrier service and rated for a 10,000 lb max laden weight. It's fitted with a steel deep-tapered chrome bumper with 2 tow points, an aluminum battery box (LH, under-cab, non-slip step) and aluminum tool box (RH, under-cab, non-slip step), both polished. Lighting includes projector-style headlight module pods with integrated turn signals, LED stop/turn/tail/backup lighting, and load lights at inboard, outboard, and sleeper-mounted locations. Marker lights are omitted, though the switch and wiring are pre-installed for future addition, and pre-wired switch provisions are in place for auxiliary lighting under the cab/sleeper and on the dual air cleaners. A removable bug screen is fitted behind the grille.

Tires & Wheels
Front tires are 295/60R22.5 EcoPlus HS3, 18-ply, mounted on Alcoa 22.5x9.00 high-polish aluminum wheels. Rear tires are 255/70R22.5 XZE, 16-ply, mounted on Alcoa 22.5x8.25 high-polish aluminum wheels.
