It's spec'd for refuse, scrap and recycling in on-highway refuse service. GVWR is 62,000 lbs, with a front axle load of 20,000 lbs and a rear axle load of 44,000 lbs. The cab, hood, fenders and roof are painted white in Axalta two-stage paint over a black frame, and the body is also painted white.
Engine & Drivetrain
Power comes from a PACCAR PX-9 (2024 emissions) rated 350 HP @ 2,000 RPM, governed at 2,200 RPM, with 1,050 lb-ft @ 1,200 RPM. The powertrain is optimized for performance in vocational applications, with a typical operating speed of 65 MPH. It runs on EMUX electronics architecture. Other engine features include a VGT exhaust brake, labeled engine protection shutdown, a Horton on/off fan clutch, a high-efficiency cooling system, and an engine-mounted air cleaner with an air restriction indicator. The engine idle shutdown timer is disabled, and the unit is CARB and EPA idling compliant. The electrical system has a PACCAR 160-amp brushed alternator, a PACCAR 12V starter, three PACCAR Premium 12V dual-purpose batteries (2,190 CCA), an under-hood battery jumper terminal, a low-voltage disconnect system, and a battery disconnect switch on the battery box. You also get a 110–120V immersion block heater, a PACCAR fuel/water separator with 12V fuel filter heat, and an 18.7 CFM air compressor. A 12-pin remote PTO/throttle provision sits in the engine bay, and maximum PTO speed is set at 1,400 RPM. Exhaust is a single RH system with the DPF/SCR in one module under the cab on the RH side, and a 36" tall, 5" diameter chrome standpipe with a curved tip.
Transmission
The transmission is an Allison 3000 RDS-P Gen 6 Rugged Duty Series in a 6-speed close-ratio setup. It has a TC-421 torque converter and uses RDS Package 180 with primary shift schedule 1. It's operated from a dash-mounted push-button shifter. Features include auto neutral with the parking brake, neutral at stop, an output-function neutral indicator for PTO, and LH-mounted transmission PTO provisions. The driveline is a 1710 HD with one midship bearing.
Chassis & Axles
The wheelbase is 230", with a 162.5" cab-to-axle, 220.5" cab-to-end-of-frame, and 67.5" front-axle-to-back-of-cab. The frame uses 10-5/8" steel rails with 5/16" thickness and a full steel inner liner. The rails are zinc coated for corrosion protection. Crossmembers are an HD 5-piece at the back of cab, aluminum frame rail crossmembers, and 3-piece suspension crossmembers. The end of frame is square with no crossmember, ready for a body-builder crossmember, and has a moveable crossmember for the taillights. Up front is a PACCAR FX-20 wide-track steer axle rated 20,000 lbs with a 4" drop and PHP10 iron Preset+ hubs. Steering is Sheppard HD94 dual-gear power steering with a frame-mounted reservoir and cooler. The rears are Meritor RT46-160 rated 46,000 lbs, with a 5.63 ratio, a rear-rear diff lock with speed interlock, PHP10 iron Preset+ hubs and synthetic lube in all axles. GAWR is 20,000 lbs front and 22,000 lbs on each rear axle. Brakes are Bendix air cam drums, 16.5x7 front and 16.5x8.6 rear. They have refuse service brakes on the steer and drive axles, gusseted cam brackets front and rear, heavy-duty steer cam bushings, an SBM valve and 4S4M ABS. The air system has a heated Bendix AD-HF air dryer with coalescing filter, nylon chassis hose, aluminum air tanks outside the frame rails with pull cords, and all air components cleared outside the frame on both sides behind the cab. For fuel, there's a 70-gallon D-shaped polished aluminum tank under the cab on the LH side, with a polished non-slip step and polished straps. The 14-gallon DEF tank is mounted LH behind the cab with a polished stainless cover. There's also an aluminum space-saver battery box behind the cab on the RH side with side access, an aluminum non-slip cab entry step, and a tapered chrome steel bumper with two tow points.
Suspension
