Overview
This 2025 Peterbilt Model 220 Medium Duty is configured for refuse, scrap, and recycling hauling in an on-highway rear loader/push-out application.

Engine & Drivetrain
Powered by a PACCAR PX-7 engine rated 250 HP @ 2,400 RPM (governed @ 2,600 RPM) with 660 lb-ft of torque @ 1,600 RPM, 2024-emissions compliant. Paired with an Allison 3500 RDS-P 6-speed automatic transmission (Gen 6 Rugged Duty Series) with a console-mounted push-button shifter and wide-ratio gearing, plus a 1710 HD driveline with 1 midship bearing. Rear axle ratio is 5.57; powertrain is optimized for vocational applications/heavy GCWR with a typical operating speed of 75 MPH and a 100 MPH standard maximum speed limit. Equipped with a 160-amp brushed alternator, viscous-type fan clutch, and 18.7 CFM air compressor. Cold-weather equipment includes a 110-120V immersion-type block heater and a cold-start engine grid heater effective to -4°F/-20°C. Starting power comes from two PACCAR premium 12V batteries (2,000 CCA) with a Kissling battery disconnect switch. Also equipped with a high-efficiency cooling system, high air intake with a fender-mounted air cleaner (RH BOC), single RH horizontal exhaust with under-frame DPF/SCR, and a spin-on fuel/water separator with 12V heat. Fuel is carried in a 22" aluminum 56-gallon tank mounted LH behind the cab, with an 8-gallon rectangular DEF tank (2:1 or greater DEF-to-fuel ratio) mounted LH BOC.

Chassis & Axles
Front axle: Dana Spicer E1202IR rated 12,000 lbs with power steering (12,000 lb capacity, single power) and air disc brakes with dust shields. Rear axle: Dana Spicer S23-172 single rear axle rated 23,000 lbs with differential lock and air disc brakes. GAWR is 12,000 lbs front / 23,000 lbs rear for a 35,000 lb GVWR and 35,000 lb GCW. Wheelbase measures 164" with a 72" overhang (Cab/Axle 152.6", Cab/EOF 224.6"). Frame consists of 10-1/4" steel rails with steel crossmembers, EOF square without crossmember (for body-builder-installed crossmember). Maximum grade rating is 6%. Braking is managed by a Wabco Electronic Braking System (EBS) with antilock and traction control, backed by a Wabco SS1200 Plus air dryer with heater and coalescing filter, steel painted air tanks mounted high (BOC/BOS where possible), and synthetic axle lubricant on all axles. Steel battery box (RH BOC, mounted on RH frame rail) with aluminum cover, and a steel bumper finished in gray.

Suspension
Front: taper leaf springs and shocks rated 12,000 lbs. Rear: Reyco 79KB multi-leaf suspension rated 23,000 lbs.

Cab & Interior
Steel 63.5" BBC ProBilt day cab, LH drive, finished in an Axalta single-stage non-metallic Ice White (M8870) cab/hood with a black frame, and a gray interior. Sears C2 air-ride, high-back driver and passenger seats in fabric, with orange seat belts. Adjustable tilt-only steering column with a Peterbilt logo steering wheel, rear wall storage, and a center console with storage and 2 cup holders. One-piece curved windshield, day cab rear window, electric power windows (LH/RH), and heated/motorized driving mirrors. Combo fresh air heater/air conditioner. ConcertClass AM/FM radio with weatherband, Bluetooth phone/audio, and a USB port. Electric windshield wipers with intermittent feature, and a dual-scale speedometer (MPH over KPH). Lighting includes dual round halogen headlights with integral turn signals, 5 marker lights, fog/driving lights, daytime running lights, and RH/LH stop/tail/turn/backup lights. Also equipped with a 107 dB backup alarm and a ship-loose, hazmat-approved UL-listed/rated ABC fire extinguisher.

Body & Equipment
Configured for a rear loader/push-out refuse body, 204" body length x 162" body height, with a 1,000 lb max laden weight rating.

Tires & Wheels
Front: Goodyear 16-ply 11R22.5 RY023. Rear: Goodyear 14-ply 11R22.5 TY517 MC2 (dual, 4 rear tires). Wheels are ACC-Lite steel Armor, 22.5 x 8.25 with PHP10-5 hand holes, front and rear (4 rear rims).
